»  RELATING TO THE CAMERA:
         Remote Interviews for Television & Internet

  1. Learn to “work the camera” so that it becomes a vehicle for delivering clear, succinct and compelling messages. Through coaching, practice and video feedback gain ability and confidence in relating to the audience or the interviewer through the camera lens.

  2. INTENDED FOR:  Spokespeople preparing for media interviews in which additional skills are required for relating to the camera from a remote location.  Individuals and groups up to 4.

  3. TIME & STAFF:  ½ day (4 hours) with 1 trainer and 1 videographer and 1 videographer



»  GETTING INK BY THINKING LIKE A JOURNALIST

  1. Gain insight on what makes reporters tick.  “Bulletproof” messages to get press and promotion.   This unique workshop with a focus on content for print interviews, has attracted both seasoned spokespeople preparing for a specific event, and for newcomers to media and PR.

  2. INTENDED FOR:  Spokespeople speaking to business reporters who write for both trade and business publications. Individuals and groups up to 4.

  3. TIME & STAFF:  4 hours for individuals; 6 hours for groups up to 4 with 1 trainer and 1 videographer and 1 videographer



»  REFRESHER 

  1. Prepare for challenging situations with proven ways to handle difficult interviews.  Review bridging technique, the use of sound bites and transforming jargon into simple and meaningful language.  Depending upon the specific needs, this course may include intensive interview practice for TV, radio, print or Internet; press conference presentations, remote television interviewing and/or handling crisis situations.

  2. INTENDED FOR:  Spokespeople who have gone through core media training.  Individuals and small groups.

  3. TIME & STAFF:  ½ day (4 hours) to full day (depending upon training needs and number of participants) with 1 trainer and 1 videographer



»  THE PHONE INTERVIEW

  1. Present key messages clearly, succinctly and with enthusiasm. Receive intensive telephone rehearsal sessions and coaching; including consulting on key messages; help with handling difficult questions; and practice approaching topics from several perspectives.  Develop interview skills for different publication formats.

  2. INTENDED FOR:  Spokespeople preparing for media tours (for primarily radio, telephone and print interviews).  Individuals and groups.

  3. TIME & STAFF:  2 to 3 hours with 1 trainer and 1 videographer and 1 videographer and 1 videographer



»  CRISIS COMMUNICATIONS

  1. Practice handling high-stakes, crisis situations on-the-spot with empathy and confidence. Review your company’s approach to crises; know what can and cannot be said and strategize for staying in control.  Lear to demonstrate openness, provide information to and address the fears and concerns of the public.  Prepare for spontaneous and planned press conference via role plays, sound bite preparation, bridging technique.  Review the role of the spokesperson as educator.

  2. INTENDED FOR:  Spokespeople who may have to represent the company in crisis situations (public affairs managers, PR managers, senior-level executives).  Individuals and groups up to 4.

  3. TIME & STAFF:  ½ day (4 hours) to full day (depending upon number of participants and the needs of the group) with 1 trainer and 1 videographer
